Discover the Lay Dominicans

The Mater Dei Lay Dominicans is a vibrant community dedicated to living out the Dominican charisms of prayer, study, community, and apostolate. We aim to educate individuals about the rich heritage of the Dominicans and the lives of our beloved saints. Our chapter welcomes all who wish to deepen their faith and engage in meaningful service. We encourage inquiries about the Catholic faith and invite you to share your prayer intentions with us. Each request will be thoughtfully addressed by a member of our community.

Key Highlights of Our Community

  • Engage in spiritual growth through regular prayer and study sessions that deepen your faith.
  • Participate in community service projects that reflect the Dominican commitment to helping others.

St Dominic Church Providence College RI

Mater Dei is a Lay Dominican fraternity of the Province of St. Joseph.  We are a community of men and women who seek the Truth and follow the Rule of St. Dominic. We believe and adhere to the motto of our holy father St. Dominic: to praise, to bless, to preach and to follow in his footsteps.

Being a Lay Dominican is a vocation, and our charism is to follow the four pillars: To Pray, To Study, Community, and Apostolate.

Our fraternity location is at St. Peter the Apostle Church in Libertytown, Maryland. Our goal is to inform all interested in the history of Dominican Saints and Saints of other communities that have gone before us. These Saints give examples to leading a holy life.

We would encourage anyone needing prayer to kindly make a request so that we as a group may intercede on your behalf.
